Celebrating Bharati
Vanavil Cultural Centre is celebrating poet Subramania Bharati's birthday (December 11) as a three-day festival of music, poetry and dance from December 11-13 at Bharatiar Memorial, Triplicane.
On December 11, besides a procession of the poet's statue, theatre person 'Crazy' Mohan's collection of verses on Lord Krishna will be released. Actor-orator Sivakumar will talk on Kambar and Bharati in the evening.
On December 12, Narada Gana Sabha, Natyarangam will present a dance drama on Bharati's works. Later, Malayalam poet M.T. Vasudevan Nair will be conferred the Bharati Award.
On December 13, Nithyasree Mahadevan will unveil a portrait of doyenne D. K. Pattammal, after which a day long music festival will be conducted. The finale will be a discourse by Suki Sivam. SOURCE:- THE HINDU
