TWILIGHT

The movie based on the first book of Stephanie Meyer's wildly popular saga about vampires and teens, director has played brilliantly to bring vampires into a contemporary teen world. High School student Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) shifts from phoenix to live with her father (Billy Burke) in a heavily overcast town known as Forks. Forks high school has a clan of strangely pale young folk, the Cullens. Bella herself stands out with her air of self-possessed moodiness. The moment she and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) look each other, butterflies fly.

However, in the Mills & Boon style, he refuses to acknowledge the attraction. She explains in her narrator capacity the three things she's sure about are: First, Edward was a Vampire. Second, there was a part of him ? and I didn?t know how dominant that part might be ? that thirsted for my blood. And finally, I was in unconditional love with him. Dr. Carlisle Cullen (Peter Facinelli) heads Edward and his family, who are a higher breed of the undead, the vegetarians equivalent vampire. They prefer animal blood to human blood although the latter is yummier. Edward has no guts to risk by getting too involved with Bella as he's not sure whether he can control himself and not drink her blood. Instead he involves in too melodramatic dialogue ? 'your scent is like a drug to me, you are like my personal brand of heroin' this makes Bella want him more. The reasoning with teen dilemmas are too obvious.

Though nothing much happens in the first half, its somehow more convincing than the second half where rivalry with non-vegetarian vampires results in fights, chases and blood shedding. Currently, the Twilight Saga: New Moon, the second in the series has just released in the West has been seen as much bloodless by critics than the first version. The movie has some terrible CGI of Edward and Bella flying through the forests, and jerky plot movement. One can accept the movie as a story set in the world of twilight possibilities and if you are a part of teen demographic.
